AS OF APR 14, COMMISSIONERS COMPLETELY IGNORED THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION TO WHICH THE PUBLIC IS ENTITLED
We notice that you often list some of your meeting agenda items as just "discussion with John Doe" (or any individual) without explaining anything that would help the public understand what the meeting is about.
(Apr 5 10)
Update: More bad news. The commissioners decided to show their disdain for the taxpayers again and put last minute changes on their Wednesday agenda only to hang it on their own door. Talk about your "hidden agenda." One of the hidden agenda items was a visit from DOLA to ask for more handouts for the county commissioners. They even added an item to the work session about document destruction/disposal. That's certainly something they wouldn't want us in on. They have to get rid of documents without public notice suddenly? Please - call Dowaliby who is up for re-election and ask him why he should be elected while showing open disregard for his employers. 719-836-4211 (Apr 7 10)
Again, you have published an unclear item on your work session agenda. The public may not be aware of who "CTSI" is and you have made no effort to explain "Annual Update with CTSI" on this Wednesday's agenda. (for April 14, 2010)
Please describe that agenda item and also notify us by email of any changes you make to this and other agenda items so we can make sure the public is notified since you will not do so.

The commissioners will consider the supplemental appropriations at their regular meeting on April 22, 2010.

- PRESS RELEASE FROM COUNTY CLERK -
This press release is dated Friday, March 19, 2010, a Friday when the county offices are closed. The county clerk is asking for public feedback on the consideration of a mail-ballot only election in a primary where she will be a candidate. The release states that it is more convenient and cost-effective, but it is less convenient for some and certainly less secure (see article and references below). It does not state that the cost savings will be paid back to the taxpayers who have already paid for a polling place primary election. The Clerk was asked by the Commissioners 3 weeks ago to get public input on the issue of a mail-only election. She is just now putting out a request for input. Someone close to the county also said that the clerk called the primary election "just a popularity contest." However, the primary elections in park county often decide the final race. Please respond quickly! Call, email, fax the County Clerk and tell her what you think! 719-836-4222 office, 719-836-4348 fax, 719-839-0111 cell, firstname.lastname@example.org . PARK COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE PUSH FOR ABSENTEE
Reports from anti-voting fraud groups point to most election fraud occurring in absentee mail ballots that the Park County Clerk's office prefers. Clerk's office will argue for all mail voting for 2010 primary in which she will likely be a candidate.

SHERIFF WILL NOT REVEAL HOW MUCH IS SPENT ON TRAINING
Sheriff Fred Wegener was asked, at a public meeting Tuesday night, how much he spent on training his officers. He would not answer except to repeat, "as much as I can" twice in response to the specific question. He would not give a dollar amount and claimed the commissioners set his budget. Commissioner Dowaliby disagreed and said they do not dictate how the Sheriff spends his budget line by line.
