Our friend and neighbor, Roy Nelson, passed away on Wednesday, October 3. The Nelsons are well known in the county and especially around Shawnee as keepers of the store and Post Office.

SMOKE FROM CALIFORNIA FIRES CAUSES HAZE OVER COLORADO - Southwesterly winds are pushing the smoke plume directly into Colorado. That wind flow along with very weak winds at the surface in Colorado and a temperature inversion that is over most of the state has trapped the smoke in many valleys across Colorado.
