CHRISTMAS TREE CUTTING PERMITS
AVAILABLE NOVEMBER 2005

Rumors are flying that the National Forest will not be allowing Christmas Tree cutting in the area this year. The rumors are false.

According to Terry McCann of the U.S. Forest Service, the 2005 Christmas Tree cutting plan is alive and well. The Pike and San Isabel National Forests will be open to this cherished family holiday tradition by permit only. Permits go on sale starting in November.

For details on the Pike and San Isabel Christmas Tree program in the South Platte Ranger District, please visit the District's website at http://www.fs.fed.us/r2/psicc/spl/xmas.shtml. Tree cutting permits in the Fairplay area South Park District will go on sale November 21, 2005. Watch the Park County Bulletin for further details.

This is a very popular tradition and permits go fast!
