It's true what they said - the county has been taken over by a bunch of really wacked control freaks. Not only have they adopted INTERNATIONAL codes for our property, but they also decided they would control what garbage cans we have!!!!
“The owner of every dwelling shall supply an approved leakproof, covered, outside garbage container.”
“The interior of every structure, shall be free from any accumulation of rubbish or garbage.”
And if they think what you have in your house is rubbish, they're going to bust in and clean out your house??? Just how are they going to get in there to find out in the first place?? Manufacture fake warrants?
Congratulations for electing the most tyrannical government this county has ever seen. These commissioners should be recalled immediately before they do any more damage. And don't forget the clerk and others who help weasel them into office in the first place.
Please watch for recall petitions and sign to save what's left of your freedoms. Our commissioners are apparently trying to beat Obama to the punch.

After reading your post, I posted this subject in the Pine Cam Forum. It was deleted within 2 minutes of posting. I complained about being censured and then banned me from the Pine Cam Forum.
The people who run Park County are very out of control. They scare me. They cannot stand for open discussion of subjects that affect our every day lives. THAT IS SCARY! They remind me of Gestopo and KGB right here in our county. Take a look at who are the moderators of Pine Cam Forum.

Re: Happy NO Independence Day Park County!
Hello wterrell. Thank you for letting us all know that some people might be helping to cover for the county officials. There is no reason this shouldn't be posted because it comes from Public Documents posted on the county's own website. Do they work for the county government over there? Those are usually the only people who cover for them are those who are getting paid or favors and don't want to lose them. I don't know though as I seldom visit there.
Thank you for trying to get the word out. People will just have to find better ways to stay informed. Or maybe they just don't like you linking to anything here. I don't know why they would be scared of that, though. I guess it does depend who runs it. People connected to the county government have been trying to "encourage" this forum to shut down. It just makes them look bad. And guilty.
I have emailed it to some people to try to let them know and get the word around. That might be the only other option. I don't think the paper covers these issues either.

John Tighe is planning to be sheriff after he's done screwing up the commissioner's office and busting the budget. He wants plenty of power to invade anybody's property he wants to.
That's why they cheated to get Doobie in there. They can make him do anything they want.

I agree with you that Tighe wants to be sheriff. Won't that be fun! We can have the dumbest money manager in the county controlling the biggest budget and the most secrets. That's why he's making deals with the sheriff's department and pouring millions into the sheriff's budget. He wants to make sure he has plenty of money to take and waste or misuse when he takes it over.
And the bit about the garbage cans just shows you that what some warned about is true. Keep your eyes open. There will be more, you can count on it. You can ask anyone, if someone gets away with stuff, they just do more and bigger stuff.

Who is going to inspect our garbage cans? The same overpaid person who used to inspect poop tanks?
Or maybe the UN will send one of their overpaid bureaucrats. What crap! (no pun intended)
Sheriff, are you going to arrest people in the county who have the wrong garbage can? Are you in on this?

I was just at the BOCC today regarding the day's discussions.
It was truly amazing. How the HE*L did Dowaliby get elected as a county commissioner?
100,000 swimmers and he was the fastest?!
Tighe, of course, was his useful fluff and condescending self. I really hope we can muster enough support to get these guys recalled and nuetered/spayed! (figuratively)

Re: Happy NO Independence Day Park County!
don't ya remember? those idjits are in there cos the clerk put them in there, if ya ask me. remember when she hid petitions and gave out misinformation to maybe keep unfriendlies out of office? if there was 100,000 swimmers then doobie was probly the one left behind and got the job by default. the lawyers and real powers in the county got all the patsies they wanted in office and now eveybody has to cover for each other. buncha crooks and liars if you ask me. i'll never trust anybody who ever worked for this government and din't speak up.
din't know the coroner had 3 cars. what a waste. must need the other two cos she's never at work unless she can get her name in the paper.

Re: Happy NO Independence Day Park County!
Hi there, new to this forum.
I have read a number of recent back posts and have lived in the community for a couple years.
I am still trying to understand the ebbs and flows of Park County, the people, the businesses and the government.
This appears to be the place I might be able to get a few other perspectives on things and this thread leads me to a big question, a classic one.
Why is our local government oversight of the citizens and their activities so large?
I ask this not just because I may have this perspective, but more because it seems that everyone barring a slight few seem to feel this way. I thought the word on the street was that we needed to get rid of or simplify the building code being used, not add to it with a property maint code. I thought folks wanted more rights on their properties and how they decide to live life.
Part of why I moved here was the sentiment on the street, partially saddened that this does not seem to be reflected local laws...to some extent. Sometimes it seems odd what gets great oversight and what does not. The concept that we inspect houses and yet not cars is amazing to me (I would have neither), the concept that we give free education even to families of means, while taxing those that may not be able to afford health care to pay for it amazes me. The concept that this is a local republican way of handling home searches and welfare confuses me.
Most odd is that this is the rural place I have lived that has the absolute lowest property taxes (by 3+ times) but the largest local government (by 3+ times). Assuming schools always cost about the same (no comments on the upcoming buildings), how is this even possible? Seems like 1/4 of the folks I have met since moving here work for the local govt. Seems like everywhere else rural I have lived I knew one or two guys that plowed for the local govt., actually they were the local govt.
Heavy suburban type regulation seems fine in suburban areas where the citizens demand it. Here it feels more like it is being handed to folks. Are folks afraid to be vocal or am I missing a huge part of the community (perhaps this is demanded mostly in the NE part of the county?).
Also new to me are these HOAs, weird, I avoided them, but in reality, their presence should eliminate the need for many of the laws and ordinances, as these HOAs have replaced the need for these govt regs with private agreements. This is actually good. Just like govt inspections can be replaced with private inspections if desired.
Also wondering about Mark Dowaliby. Specifically, it sounds like folks are quite critical of him, but usually stating it in such a way that implies this is obvious, so often without example of why he was brought up. For those of us not that that meeting or interaction, it would be great if folks were more specific, it would allow either thoughts to carry more weight or be debated. My understanding was the Mark ran uncontested.
Just looking for some perspectives. Thanks.
p.s. more specifically to the thread:
1. Does anyone else know of the examples or situations that led to the necessary and desirable adoption of this ordinance? Specifically, there should be a number of compelling situations/threats to society that current health and generals laws fail to address, right? Otherwise, what prompted this now vs. whenever?
2. "Section 111 (Means of Appeal) is amended by deleting the section in its entirety." Now I know it is too late and I do not know this was going on and all, but should this statement not have been more or a fire setter than trash cans?
Would it not help the community more to have an ordinance that fined folks symptomatically sick in public $1000? Think of the money, think of the unused sick days...
