Winter Storm *Warning* - N & W Park County

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 6 PM Friday to 5 am MST
Sunday...

* what... heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 10 to
18 inches expected. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph.

* Where... Rabbit Ears Pass, Rocky Mountain National Park and the
Medicine Bow range and the mountains of Summit County, the
Mosquito Range, and the Indian Peaks.

* When... from 6 PM Friday to 5 am MST Sunday.

* Additional details... travel could become very difficult to
impossible. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce
visibility. Strong winds could cause tree damage. Cold wind
chills as low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed
skin in as little as 30 minutes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.

The latest Road conditions for the state you are calling from can

range and West Slope of the Front Range.

* When... until 5 am MST Sunday.

* Additional details... travel will be quite difficult if not
impossible at times. Blowing snow could significantly reduce
visibilities and cause travel delays and even Road closures.
Wind chills as low as 25 below zero could cause frostbite on
exposed skin in under 30 minutes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...
