High Wind Warning
Issued: 11:10 AM MST Feb. 12, 2019 – National Weather Service

... High Wind *Warning* in effect from midnight tonight to 5 PM MST
Wednesday...

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a High Wind
Warning, which is in effect from midnight tonight to 5 PM MST
Wednesday.

* Winds... southwest 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 80 mph. The
strongest winds will be in the foothills west of Denver.

* Timing... winds will increase after midnight and continue through
much of Wednesday. The strongest winds will likely be Wednesday
morning.

* Impacts... gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Travel will be difficult for high profile vehicles.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Strong winds may lead to property damage. Hazardous
driving conditions due to powerful cross winds will pose a
serious risk for drivers, especially for light weight and
high profile vehicles. Loose outdoor items should be brought
inside or secured properly. Be prepared for possible power
outages.

* winds... west 35 to 50 mph with gusts up to 80 mph.

* Timing... winds will continue over the High Mountain passes and
then spread over the foothills by late this morning or early
afternoon. The strongest winds are expected this afternoon and
evening.

* Impacts... strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
lines. Scattered power outages are possible. Travel will be
difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
