ROUND 2 - CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORTS FILED BY CANDIDATES


The current campaign finance reporting period for local Park County candidates covers contributions and expenditures occurring from July 18 - August 3, 2008. The reports were due by August 8. All candidates filed early or on time.

Any items in excess of $19.99 from or to any one person or entity must be listed by name. Items below $20.00 are not required to be itemized on the reports.

In District 1, John Tighe reported cash contributions from Park County Director of Human Resources Cindy Gharst ($50) and Park County Administrative Assistant to the Commissioners Sandra Berryman ($100). He reports that his $125 in expenditures went for "Campaign Materials" and he ended the period with $37.28 on hand. Tighe's campaign treasurer filing the report is the candidate's wife, Lisa Tighe. Finance report was filed timely on August 8.

District 1 Candidate Doug Tamminga reports cash contributions received from Carol Tamminga and JD Lang in the amount of $100 each. He also reports a non-monetary contribution offset of $156 from Becky VanHout. The ending balance on hand for the period is $200. Tamminga's reporting agent is his wife, Cindy Tamminga. Report was filed early on August 7.

District 1 unaffiliated candidate Lora Abcarian reports itemized contributions of $100 each from Lois Miller and Robin Kepple and $50 from Roger Sawyer. She only reports $3 in miscellaneous expense leaving a balance of $254 on hand. Abcarian's reporting agent is Carolyn Arnold-Marsh. The report was filed early on August 4, 2008.

For District 2, no candidate has a primary election opponent. Republican Richard Hodges received one contribution of $200 from Mary Morahan and spent $377 including $207 for campaign stickers. He reports a negative balance of $-708.84 at the end of the reporting period. The agent filing his report is Patricia Sapp. Report was filed early on August 4.

Democratic District 2 candidate Lynda James reports a contribution of $50 from Soren & Cynthia Frederiksen and non-itemized contributions of $51. Total expenditures of $191 went primarily for sign materials and other small supplies. Ending balance on hand was $952.08. Her reporting agent is Diane Knight. The report was filed early on August 7.

In District 3, Lillian Wissel reports one contribution of $25 from Andrew Wyatt of Lamar and additional increases from the candidate's coffers. Wissel reports spending $501 on advertising and $175 for a website. The campaign reports a negative ending balance of $-1,928. Wissel's campaign treasurer reporting is Michael Peterson. The report was filed timely on August 8.

District 3 challenger Mark Dowaliby reports itemized contributions of $600 including $300 from Robert White of Missouri, $200 from Nancy Mcree, and $100 from Louis Christen, both contributors of New Mexico. The candidate reports that he spent $186 on signs and sign materials, $298 on stickers, and $286 on ink, candy, balloons and paper. Mr. Dowaliby is signing as his own treasurer and reporting agent. The report was filed early on August 7.

These are the last reports before the August 12 Primary Election. The next campaign finance reports are due on September 11, 2008.
