A one-vehicle rollover accident claimed the life of Judy L. Hall, 47, of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, late Friday afternoon. Hall was driving on US 285 south of Kenosha Pass (mile marker 200) when her pickup truck left the road, hit a delineator post, went into a shallow ditch and rolled 3-1/4 times, according to Park County Coroner Sharon Morris. Morris reports that Hall was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of multiple head injuries suffered in the crash.
The second fatal accident of the weekend occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. Sunday. According to the Coroner, a northbound vehicle appears to have drifted into the southbound lane of US 285 just north of Kenosha Pass (mile marker 207), resulting in a head-on collision. A third vehicle then collided with the two crashed vehicles. Investigation of this accident is ongoing. According to Coroner Morris, Jody C. Musgrave, 24, of Gunnison, Colorado, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two Lifeguard Helicopters were called into service for Sunday's accident and a third victim was transported by ambulance. Park County Deputies closed Highway 285 for approximately 2 hours. Traffic was limited for another hour before the highway was reopened.
