On Nov. 4, Park County voters will have an opportunity to elect a new county commissioner serving Dist. 1. This past November, I announced my candidacy for the office, and I am running as an Unaffiliated (Independent) candidate. I have nearly two decades of experience in the political arena and community relations. I am an award-winning journalist, and many of you will remember me from my years at Park County's official newspaper, The Flume.
Take the first step in finding out more about me. Here's a quick test: all you need to do is answer "yes" or "no" to the following questions:
- Are you tired of government as usual?
- Do you believe elected officials should be responsible to the needs of the people they govern, and not simply responsible to government itself?
- Should elected officials be responsible to their constituents more than once every four years when they run for reelection?
- Do the doors of government need to open?
- Is it harder for residents to find out what public officials are doing and why they are taking the actions they are?
- Should a candidate commit herself/himself to positions on issues, and not simply say, "I will do the best job I can if elected."?
- Can more be done to improve the operations of Park County Government, bringing these operations into the 21st century?
- Is it time for a change?
If you answered "yes" to these questions, you and I are in agreement.
Please visit www.vote4lora.com and learn more about what I have to offer the residents of Park County. I have the work background, drive, and desire to serve that would be a positive benefit to county government.
I hope to merit your curiosity today, your confidence tomorrow, and your support on Nov. 4.
Together, let's build a better Park County!
