October 2007
Park County Democrats elected Soren Frederiksen, 47, of Bailey as Chairman at its October monthly meeting. He replaces Jon DeStefano who stepped down due to work he has undertaken with a national youth soccer organization. DeStefano will continue as Precinct 4 Captain, an area located north of Bailey near the top of Crow Hill.
Frederiksen has been 1st Vice-Chair of the county party and prior to that served as Secretary. He also serves as Precinct 12 Captain, an area covering parts of Burland and Roland Valley. Frederiksen says a main focus for the party is registering Democrats prior to the December 5 deadline to participate in February caucuses. In order to have a chance to become a delegate to other party conventions and involved in the candidate selection process, voters must first participate at the February 5, 2008 caucus.
Also at the meeting, Democrats elected Dennis Obduskey, 52, of Bailey, as Vice-Chairman. He is Precinct 11 Captain and resident of Deer Creek Valley Ranchos and had been acting as 2nd Vice-Chair.
