Pike National Forest to Terminate Fire Restrictions

PUEBLO, Colo., Oct. 14, 2010 – Moderating conditions have prompted the U.S.
Forest Service – Pike National Forest, to terminate fire restrictions
beginning 8:00 a.m. Friday, October 15, 2010.

Precipitation in the last week, coupled with higher humidity and cooler
nights has decreased the fire danger. These factors, combined with weather
forecasts showing possible moisture next week, have prompted the
termination of fire restrictions.

Terminated Stage 1 fire restrictions no longer apply to Pike National
Forest lands located within Clear Creek, Douglas, El Paso, Jefferson, Park
and Teller Counties in Colorado.

For more information contact your local Pike National Forest District
Office: South Platte Ranger District, 303-275-5610; South Park Ranger
District, 719-836-2031; Pikes Peak Ranger District, 719-636-1602.
