Post Climate Change Tricks and Fraud - Emails Exposed

The scientific community is buzzing over thousands of emails and documents -- posted on the Internet last week after being hacked from a prominent climate-change research center -- that some say raise ethical questions about a group of scientists who contend humans are responsible for global warming.

The correspondence between dozens of climate-change researchers, including many in the U.S., illustrates bitter feelings among those who believe human activities cause global warming toward rivals who argue that the link between humans and climate change remains uncertain.

Some emails also refer to efforts by scientists who believe man is causing global warming to exclude contrary views from important scientific publications.

"This is horrible," said Pat Michaels, a climate scientist at the Cato Institute in Washington who is mentioned negatively in the emails. "This is what everyone feared. Over the years, it has become increasingly difficult for anyone who does not view global warming as an end-of-the-world issue to publish papers. This isn't questionable practice, this is unethical."

There are some very interesting and revealing emails in that collection. It seems to be at the top of discussion still.

Quotes from ... -a-minute/

"In thousands of emails and documents dating back over a decade, some of the world’s foremost climatologists are exposed as petty, vindictive alarmists who are deliberately using fuzzy science to “trick” unsuspecting “idiots” on the issue of climate change.

The information was obtained from the database of the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England, an institution that was embroiled in another recent scandal after it was forced to admit deleting much of its raw data."

The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t,” writes Kevin Trenberth, a climatologist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research.

“Mr. President, we have a problem.”

Stolen E-Mail, Stoking the Climate Debate
NY Times watchdog whitewashes Climategate

New York Times public editor Clark Hoyt responded to our request to examine the propriety of Andrew Revkin’s reporting on Climategate. Not only is Revkin part of the Climategate story (he’s mentioned in the e-mails) but he clearly has a special relationship with the Climategate actors that calls into question whether he can report on them without bias.

This story has better legs than algore.
:? Maybe that's not saying much, but here's more I found on the website for American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research

Scientists Behaving Badly

The recent exposure of e-mails and technical documents from the Climate Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia has called the research and methods of a number of leading climate scientists into question. These e-mails and document hightlight the politicization of climate change and reveal a problematic tendency of many scientists to advocate for preconceived conclusions.

Slowly and mostly unnoticed by the major news media, the air has been going out of the global warming balloon. Global temperatures stopped rising a few years ago, much to the dismay of the climate campaigners. The U.N.'s upcoming Copenhagen conference-- which was supposed to yield a binding greenhouse gas emissions reduction treaty as a successor to the failed Kyoto Protocol-- collapsed weeks in advance and remains on life support pending Obama's magical intervention.
