Post Recycle Christmas Trees

PUEBLO, Colo. - Looking for a way to put Christmas trees to good use? Colorado Parks and Wildlife has a drop-off site at 600 Reservoir Road to recycle Christmas trees into quail habitat.

Biologists use the trees to create brush piles to improve bird and small game habitat on State Wildlife Areas in the Pueblo area. Collection dates are January 2 - 31 at the CPW Archery Range parking lot.

"All we ask is that people remove ornaments and tinsel before dropping the trees off," said CPW's Chad Schreivogel.

For more information, call the Pueblo Service Center at 719-561-5300.

Directions to the collection site: From the intersection of Thatcher Blvd. (Hwy 96) and Pueblo Boulevard, go west on Highway 96 for approximately 2.75 miles to Reservoir Road; turn Right and travel 0.10 miles to the archery range parking lot and place the trees in the area marked by signs.
