Post 2010 Precinct Caucus and County Assembly Schedule
Locations for Republican and Democrat Party caucus locations will be posted on the politics page. So far, we've received the schedule for Republicans and have requested the same from Democrats.

Get involved in your party's grassroots selection process before you are only left with what they hand you. It's fun and informative! And your one vote carries a lot of weight at that level.

Get informed! Get involved!

Caucus is the evening of Mar 16. It starts at 7 pm and can last an hour or two. If you are elected as a delegate during the caucus meeting, you will attend county assembly in Jefferson on April 10. That's a Saturday and can take 1/2 day or longer. That's where the delegates vote to decide who will be on the primary ballot. Very grassroots. It's where the very first decisions are made in the party primary elections.

It's important for party candidates to receive enough delegate support at assembly to move on to the primary ballot.

Also, some state candidates usually attend the assembly and speak to the delegates. Delegates to the county assembly can run for and be elected as delegates to the state convention to select state and district candidates. But going to that level is optional - one does not have to run to go to state level just because they are a delegate to the county assembly.

Does anyone know the residency rules for being a delegate at the GOP caucus? Do you have to officially live in the precinct you are nominated as a delegate for?
