Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 4:49 AM MDT Apr. 17, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning in effect from 10 am this morning to 6 PM MDT
this evening for wind and low relative humidity for South Park and
the southern foothills...

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a red flag
warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 10 am this morning to 6 PM MDT this evening.

* Affected area... fire weather zones 214 and 216.

* Timing... late this morning through early this evening.

* Winds... west 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

* Relative humidity... as low as 14 percent.

* Impacts... conditions will be favorable for new fire starts and
rapid fire growth. Extreme fire behavior is possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... .or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
