FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Date: March 6, 2018 Time: 8:00 am

Conejos County Escapee Arrest

On March 6, 2018, at approximately 7:38 am, the Colorado State Patrol received a citizen tip that there was a suspicious person walking along 4th Street in Sanford, CO. When a trooper contacted the suspicious person, a foot chase ensued. The suspicious person led troopers into a field and attempted to hide in a ditch. As La Jara Police Department assisted, troopers took the suspicious party into custody without incident. The suspicious party was identified as Kyle Pauley, one of the escapees from Conejos County Jail a few days prior. He was arrested without injury to the suspect or officers involved.

The Colorado State Patrol would like to thank the citizens of Conejos County for keeping their eyes open for suspicious activity and people. Pauley would not be in custody without your help. Please continue to be aware of any other suspicious people in the area as Lawrence D. Gonzales, the other escapee from Conejos County Jail, is still as large.
